What I didn't hear was the recognition that it will take more than just progressive to elect a national candidate. It took identity minorities 60 years to finally wake up to the scam of the Dem party. Even if the right is a scam, how long will it take for those voters to realize and then, what will they do. Do you go back to the party that screwed you for 60 years?
Is the current leadership of the Dem who, as an independent, want to govern me? And the answer is are you kidding me. Adam Schiff talking about insider trading. Jasmine, a younger Waters who is into hate and violence? Jeffries we have the right on the run and Schumer, I am the only one who can lead us the best the Dems can put out there?
I hate to tell the DNC but it is the message. And the best orator ever couldn't sell it to other than the Dem base. If the Dems are going to run a shadow government with competing ideas, why aren't they doing that now with out the constraints of a shadow govenrment?
Why can't one Democrat say, this is the proposal from the right and here is how we would modify it. Why is Whitmere and others skewered when they try to work with Trump? She is the type of leader who outsiders can identify with. When has a defense only strategy ever won a war?
Why do democrats in the face of all facts and CW tell you what you are doing is wrong, continue to do "it". Why don't you go out and ask someone other than y9ur base. They sure as hell didn't do you any good in the last election. Or shall we outside your party, accept it is an unalterable fallacy of the elites, to think they are only ones who know is good and right?
One interesting tell about this and supportive of Ruy is the trajectory of 2024. The race was basically frozen through indictments, convictions, assassination attempts, palace coup against Biden and the non- participatory annointment of Harris. Then it broke by 2.5% with the they/them ad. The lead in to the final line was rap.
As someone with a long career working to keep large and complex organizations efficient, and also someone that took a detour from the private sector to try and help government agencies do the same, I can absolutely explain the main source of the problem and the related solution.
In organizational leadership best practices we understand that one bad employee in a workgroup can destroy the productivity and efficiency of that workgroup. Organizations exist to achieve a mission and goals. Employees should be hired, managed, developed and promoted only to achieve the mission and goals.
In government bad employees are hired and never fired. And the government organization stops caring about achieving any mission or goals as there do not exist any incentives to drive leadership in that direction. You end up with a bunch of careerist employees that are risk-averse and just trying to make it until they can collect their retirement.
Fixing that problem requires a big firing project, a new focus on mission and goals and new employees that can and will carry out that plan.
That is what Trump and DOGE are attempting to do with half the population screaming and trying to stop them... for reasons that those screaming and trying to stop them don't even know.
Hate to create dissonance here but Robert Moses WAS reincarnated during the 1980s and he did get shit done. Inconveniently, his new name was Donald Trump. As I understand the ice rink project, he just bulldozed his way over opposition which is typical of the man and definitely Hamiltonian. Not as wide ranging as Moses but same style.
