I can be pandered to. Toss around the word working class a couple of times, as well as some pheasant hunting jargon. But I vote with my pocketbook.

The problem is two big companies hired a few hundred of those central American folks who were given automatic asylum visas. My phone is dead, doesn't ring, no contracts. During and just after covid I was getting every job I bid, and at a price to pay tuition for my kids, labor was tight and prices were high. Open borders killed my income.

Those workers who came up, good workers and nice folks by the way, won't be going home no matter who is elected. Biden/Harris not only opened the border they dramatically increased the visas issued. I'd say locally, my specialty, is gone.

When JRB picked KH to be his running mate, the first reaction was he did that to attract black voters. In reality, JRB already had the black vote. He needed white, educated, suburban voters. KH was picked so that voter segment could "feel good" about their choice of an old white man. That lesson seems deeply ingrained in the Dem party. Which could mean, they picked TW to enable educated, suburban voters to "feel good" about their vote because he can "act rural".

Walz is not remotely even a Democrat . He is a Progressive, on steroids. If life in Downtown SF is your dream, Walz is your man. Most Americans do not realize Minnesota has been a dumpster fire, before Walz poured fire on it.

It is the only state in the US, where taxi drivers and Uber drivers are allowed to ignore blind and physically challenged citizens, with a service dog, because a swath of the State believes dogs are unclean. So why it is illegal to avoid a fare because of skin hue, taxi and Uber drivers can leave blind people and disabled in a snowstorm, if their service dog is with them, and request a different driver be sent.

Genital mutilation had to be federally prohibited, , because in Minnesota carving up a 7 year old girl, in the name of religion, was OK. Walz doubled down on the insanity. Terror organizations invited to State House, for years, as esteemed guests. Kids taken to China, to marinate in Communist policy, for 30 years. Putin or Xi would never need to invade Minnesota, many would join the cause willingly. Walz is their King, and now Dems want to install him as VP.

Give me a Black/Brown man or woman any and every day that has and cares about working and middle-class and nuclear family values over a lily-white leftist. That shipped never landed for me and it never will.

White voters are not voting for Trump because of the issues. They are voting for him because they think he is a white guy who thinks like them. He continually rejects all of the fundamentals of traditional republicanism except tax cuts, and even there he is currently proposing tax cuts that would exclusively benefit the poor and middle class for the first time. (Tips and Social Security) Taking traditional Republican stands may win Harris a few votes from Pence Republicans, but those people probably number in the high triple digits at this point. Walz can give Trumplican voters a similar sense that he is one of them, because he really is. He is not a Yale law school graduate who became a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, nor is he a third generation son of billionaires. He can talk to these people and he can change their minds. The fact that he does better with educated people doesn't change the fact that he does well with non-college whites. Biden has done more for their pocketbooks than Trump ever did, and now that the economy is picking up more people will see that. Trump was just there on an economic crest created by Obama, and when an actual crisis came up, he dithered and bailed. Walz has the communication skills to help them see this.

Whitmer said repeatedly that she was not interested in the Vice Presidency. She's young enough that she can wait until Harris has served two terms before running for the presidency herself. Shapiro would have lost the Arab vote, which would have lost Michigan.

Pretending Walz is ANY kind of moderate is journalistic malpractice. He was a moderate years ago when he needed to be, now he's evolved into the most progressive governor in the U.S. Doubt if working people are all in on separating parents from children so they can be mutilated, abortion up to 9 months for any reason and without parental notification, operating 'snitch' lines to turn neighbors into the police during covid, and giving the undocumented free college tuition, medical care, and driver's licenses. I could go on and on, but it you think rural/working people are going to buy this good-ole boy load of bull, you will be surprised. (P.S. Rural voters also don't like people who lie about being at war or lie about their rank.)

And you think Walz is in favor of all of these things because...?

Walz allowed a city, full of poor minorities, to burn for 4 days, before he lifted a finger, to stop the death and destruction. Kenwood and Lynnhurst din't go up in smoke, because they are full of rich Dem voters. The downtown Target that provides groceries , prescriptions and toiletries to the impoverished in nearby Section 8 housing - who cares?

Tampons in 4th grade boy's bathrooms, sounds like a Babylon Bee headline. Ditto for a law offering "refuge" to out of state minor runaways, whose parents do not support their transition. Keeping a minor child from their parents, whose parental rights have not been terminated, is kidnapping, whether they want to be a boy, a girl or a cocker spaniel.

The man ran thru an $18 billion dollar surplus, in a year. Minnesota public school test scores, have dropped like a rock, under Walz. The man is Gavin Newsom without the hair gel, abs and tech economy to finance his insanity. Walz needs to stay in Minnesota, where voters subjected to his insanity, will, hopefully, learn to vote more wisely.

I appreciate you citing some actual facts about Walz. Here are some responses: It's a tough decision sending troops into a crowd. Too soon, and people get killed by gun shots, as in Kent state. No one really knows whether Walz' decision was too soon or too late. At the time, Trump himself praised Walz for how he handled it.

See my comment above about tampons in the boys room. As menstruation doesn't start in the 4th grade I doubt they were put in that early. But regardless the decision was made by the legislature, and Walz signed it because it would have been a waste of time to veto the entire bill over it, even if it were a serious problem.

Trump spent more extravagantly than that during Covid. Every state Govt in the country was going into to debt to stop the economy from collapsing. And it worked.

Some test scores dropped in Minnesota, others went up. Again this was during Covid, when education was suffering all over the country. Sending teachers, many in their 60s or older, into a class room with 30 infectious students would be a death warrant, so lack of class room contact inevitably hurt test scores.

For the rest of your post, I repeat: And you believe that Walz is in favor of these things because. . .? You seem to assume that anything anyone said that seems liberal to you must be official Democratic policy, and therefore Walz' policy. Both inferences are invalid. There are nuts in both parties. But the difference is, none (or almost none) of the nuts in the Democratic party hold office or any sort of political power. In the Republic party, The nuts have all the power.

Forgive me , but there is no way on earth Walz allows wealthy white suburbs to burn. Those are his donors. The notion that he needed to wait 4 day, cannot be serious. Kent State was nearly 55 years ago.

The notion that an event, more than a half century ago, kept Walz from acting, is naive, in my opinion. He wanted the issue. The cops committed murder, and Walz thought, if enough of Minneapolis burned, they would think twice before doing it again. Besides they were burning the poor minority areas, who carees.

Walz is on the record, prior to his VP pick supporting every leftwing Dem policy Kamala supports, to suggest otherwise is insulting to voters. . If Walz didn't agree with tampons in 4th grade boy's bathrooms, he should have vetoed it. That is what a real leader, would do. If he didn't want to create a "trans refuge", tell the legislature and voters, such a law is kidnapping.

Walz is the most progressive VP candidate in US history, worse than Kamala, please stop pretending otherwise. Own the socialism.
